Kingsley Coman was just a teenager when he left Paris Saint-Germain in 2014, but had spent nine years rising through the club's youth ranks before departing for Juventus.

Now fully a Bayern Munich player after his two-year loan was made permanent over the summer, the winger is in line to face his boyhood club on matchday two and matchday six.

10. Filipe Luis

Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - 27th September

Filipe Luis spent just a single season with Chelsea after helping Atletico Madrid break the domestic dominance enjoyed in La Liga by Real Madrid and Barcelona in 2014.

The left-back returned to where he'd come from after only 26 appearances for Chelsea and will be facing the Premier League side for the first time since his departure.

9. Jeremy Mathieu

Jeremy Mathieu was let go by Barcelona this summer and faces an early reunion with the club with whom he won a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble in 2014/15.

The 33-year-old is already enjoying more regular football since making the move to Portugal after starting all five of Sporting's Primeira Liga games so far this season.

8. Nuri Sahin

Nuri Sahin earned his high profile move to Real Madrid after impressing during Borussia Dortmund's 2010/11 Bundesliga winning season.

Sahin played only a handful of times in Spain, though, and has been back with Dortmund, via a loan at Liverpool, since January 2013. Injuries have taken their toll but he's now fit again.

7. Thibaut Courtois

Although he was never actually owned by the club, Thibaut Courtois spent three hugely important seasons with Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014 before becoming Chelsea #1.

Courtois has never played against Atletico until now, but he did actually play against his parent club in the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2014 en route to reaching the final.

6. Alberto Moreno

Liverpool vs Sevilla - 13th September

Sevilla vs Liverpool - 21st November

Alberto Moreno has retained his place in the Liverpool team this season, despite the club spending £10m on Andrew Robertson, and could face his former team on matchday one.

Moreno has previously faced his old side since joining the Reds for £12m in 2014, enduring something of a nightmare against them in the Europa League final 15 months ago.

5. Fernandinho

Manchester City vs Shakhtar Donetsk - 26th September

Fernandinho won six Ukrainian league titles, four Ukranian cups and the UEFA Cup during eight trophy-laden seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk after leaving his native Brazil in 2005.

The midfielder has won three major trophies as a Manchester City player and will be coming up against his former employers for the first time. City, as a club, have never faced Shakhtar.

3. Luka Modric

Recently crowned the Champions League's 'Best Midfielder' for 2016/17 by UEFA, Luka Modric seems to have been getting better year on year since joining Los Blancos in 2012.

The Croatian played 159 time for Spurs during four seasons in north London and his £30m sale to Real saw the Premier League side double their money on their original investment.

2. Fernando Torres

Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - 27th September

Another player with ties to both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid is Fernando Torres, with the striker rejoining his boyhood club from the London side, initially on loan, in January 2015.

An emerging superstar of Spanish football during his first spell at Atletico, Torres became the most expensive buy in British football history when he joined Chelsea from Liverpool in 2011.

1. Gareth Bale

Tottenham vs Real Madrid - 1st November

For Gareth Bale, the two meetings with Tottenham on matchday three and four in the middle of the group stage campaign will be the first competitive outings against his old club since he left.

Bale has only faced Spurs in a pre-season friendly setting before now, scoring in a 2-0 Real win played in Munich as part of the 'Audi Cup' during the summer of 2015.
