Young Arsenal left-back Marc Bola has signed on a season-long loan for League One outfit Bristol Rovers.
The English defender hasn't featured in Arsene Wenger's plans since signing his first professional contract in April 2016. The left-back position is dominated by the likes of Nacho Monreal, Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Gibbs, which has made it tough for Arsenal's youth prospect, but with this opportunity at Rovers, valuable playing time will be earned during the 2017/18 season.
In an interview with Rovers’ official website, the 19-year-old
“I had a phone call telling me Rovers were interested in signing me on loan and I was delighted to come down here.”
The powerful and athletic defender who is comfortable playing in a number of roles will link up with his new club who are due to travel to Portugal next week where they have set up their pre-season training camp.
