Barcelona look set to trigger the buy-back clause in Gerard Deulofeu's contract at Everton and re-sign the winger for just £10.5m.

La Masia graduate left the Nou Camp on a permanent deal two years ago, as he looked to resurrect his stuttering career at Goodison Park.

Deulofeu had previously spent a season on loan with Everton, but he has largely failed to replicate the form he displayed during his temporary move to Merseyside since joining the club on a permanent basis.

Having run out of patience with the inconsistency of the 23-year-old, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman allowed him to join AC Milan on loan back in January and though he has since returned to Everton, it seems he will be on the move once again.

The Telegraph report that new Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is ready to trigger the buy-back clause in Deulofeu's contract and will offer him one final chance to make his mark in Catalonia.

The Blaugrana are said to have been reluctant to part ways with the Spaniard when they sold him to Everton back in 2015, and that was demonstrated by their insistence to include a buy-back clause in his contract.

With that very clause now soon to be triggered, Deulofeu is expected to return to his boyhood club, with his prospects of playing in the Toffees' first-team appearing to be almost non-existent.

Everton have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window so far, and are soon expected to add yet more depth to their squad with the acquisition of Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez who interestingly, is another graduate from Barcelona's world-famous youth academy.
