England legend Michael Owen gained worldwide acclaim through his prolific form in front goal during the 90's. But now he's only known for saying silly things and getting under people's skin.
The former Liverpool and Real Madrid forward got quite a lot of people angry after tweeting a joke about former teammate Ronaldo's weight over the weekend.
"I thought I was putting the pounds on until I saw my old mate Ronnie!" he posted after attending a ceremony at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Cristiano Ronaldo was publicly presented the Ballon d'Or trophy in front of a thousands of fans, on Saturday, with other Madrid legends in attendance.
Owen, having won the award himself 16 years ago, joined Ronaldo (Nazario), Luis Figo, Raymond Kopa and Zinedine Zidane at the forefront, and couldn't help joke his ex-teammate on Twitter.

Well, the Brazilian viewed it as being in poor taste, and claimed to be shocked by the comment.
“I am shocked as to how much importance my weight garners in the world we live in. I don't know why it is so important, to be honest,” he said at the Best FIFA Awards ceremony on Monday (H/T Goal).
Ronaldo also said that he hadn't spoken to Owen since the incident.
Meanwhile, his compatriot Roberto Carlos has condemned Owen's words.
"I don't like these type of jokes," he said. "
Ronaldo is a very good friend of mine and we have to be careful. The thing about Ronaldo is not about his body, it's his heart, he has a very big heart."
