Crystal Palace's record signing Christian Benteke is one of five Belgium players to have received an offer from the Chinese Super League, according to reports from Het Nieuwsblad and DH in Belgium.
The report makes no mention of any specific clubs nor of any offers dispatched, but the wages are likely to be considerable, particularly given the recent plethora of activity from Chinese clubs. Axel Witsel, despite being wanted by Serie A champions Juventus, recently moved there, no doubt incentivised by the colossal wages on offer.
The other players mentioned are Romelu Lukaku, Mousa Dembele, Marouane Fellaini and Dries Mertens, although of the five, only Lukaku has ruled out the prospect of moving to the Far East.
The Eagles would be loath to seeing their main striker move, regardless of the astronomical fee Benteke would command. The 26-year-old has proved a hit at Selhurst Park with eight goals in 18 starts, including two penalty misses, and will be expected to spearhead their charge for Premier League survival.
The club are currently 17th in the Premier League, one point above Sunderland in the relegation zone, and face a battle to avoid falling into the dropzone. Their next fixture takes them to the London Stadium for a derby against West Ham.
